Cardigan: the Pwllhai market is going to be bigged up and running ALL DAY as this Thursday is the manic funfair when a horrific number of stalls selling cheapish and questionable goods pack the streets of Cardigan and replace cars creating a lurid atmosphere. Amongst the mayhem find some magic and beauty in corners. One of these will be the Pwllhai market which is open every Thursday morning with local produce which is - AFFORDABLE. And a great set of sellers. The real people people. Enjoy.
This Thursday they will have eco nobs and twirls added, and be open all day. Enjoy the atmosphere in a safe corner amongst real folk.
The next Green FAir is the bloated Newport Green FAir which is typically packed to the gunnels, a time for really good socialising among interesting and worthwhile stalls and activities. A time to feel our luck in living here, and the open door to a sustainable future.
A time to forget the darker stuff happening outside our Ark.
Contact Sue 01239 820951 or Siobhan 01239 821176 or me 01239 820971 to see if you can bring a stall.
The fair is on Saturday, 10 am onwards, stalls tend to pack up about 4pm, generally followed by an evening performance.
There is good food all day and a rich variety of stalls.
Special discussions this time: Gardeners questions with experts and a Builders forum with diverse expertise
Featured surprise: Small car made by school children which does 300 mpg, but the designer cant believe this so is re-checking.
It has competed nationally (UK) - endurance competition for mpg . The Welsh ones won the ecoprize for being made of wood! And did brilliantly in mpg and speed too, against university made cars.
This is an after school club run by an enthusiast with visiting inspiring engineers like Friend Wood. (what a name).
It survives on local business sponsorship.
I will find out what else is on, there will be films and discussions and a great sociable time.
