ALLOTMENTS AT LAST FOR NEWPORT

first dig of shared land in cilgwyn

After 7 years search, land ahoy

For years land has hove into sight and retreated again, turning out to be a mirage.
Now we have commitment all round, and are working on a lease.
The land is very near, flat and sheltered, so a perfect start. The 5 intrepid searchers swiftly turned into 12 and still increasing, once land was sighted.

A very positive meeting ratified the constitution and elected committee etc on Sunday, and also talked to the land owner to agree stuff. There is agreement to pay £1,000 p.a. for an acre, there is other stuff to sort out.

Get intouch if you can help, or want an allotment...
